  • Vocabulary
  • Grammar
  • Reading Comprehension
  • Verbal skills
  • Go through some of the important topics which are 100 percent certain to be present in your question paper. Some of them are: Synonyms and Antonyms, Phrase or Idiom meaning, One Word Substitution, Spellings and sentence formations, Gap fillers, Phrase Replacement, Cloze test etc.

SSC Stenographer Grade C & D Result & Marks 2015 Declared

SSC has finally released the result of Written exam Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’which was conducted on 30-1-2016 at various centres all over the country.  SSC has released the SSC Stenographer Cutoff 2015.The candidates can check the Cutoff of SSC Stenographer for the post of Grade C and Grade D here. The cutoff is the minimum marks which is mandatory to score in order to join the next level of the selection procedure. The cutoff is decided by the exam conducting body. The cutoff is different for the different category if reservation norms are applied. Aspirants will be shortlisted on the basis of SSC Stenographer Cutoff.

Some Tips For Cracking SSC CGL Exam 2016 in a Month

1. General Awareness is crucial to this exam:Read Newspaper daily . You should be absolutely familiar and opinionated on the news in the 6 months. Collect as much general awareness as possible through online and offline medium before the test.

2. Arithmetic is the second most important thing in SSC CGL exam. Though its level is not very high, but for getting good marks, the exam demands that you have great accuracy and whizzing speed.

3. Language is the third segment of the exam. Preparing language requires time and since you have only one month, you need to give it enough time.

4. How you perform in exam is not entirely dependent on your knowledge, much of it depends on how you perform in the exam .

5. The greatest advice to prepare for SSC CGL exam in one month is to tackle as many mock tests  It will benefit you highly. You will learn to be comfortable to maintain your stress and focus for the entire duration of exam. You will also learn to maintain your speed and make choice between more yielding questions.

6. Remember, your objective in SSC CGL is to score the maximum marks you can and not prove your intelligence. Getting stuck on a tough question is a defeating approach towards this exam. Unable to solve a particular question move on to the next.

SSC CGL Syllabus 2016


If you are preparing for SSC CGL 2016 Exam, the you must know the Syllabus for both the Tier-1 and Tier-2 Exams.

Tier-1 Syllabus

In the CGL Tier-1, there will be 200 Multiple Choice Questions(MCQ's) to be asked from 4 Sections - English , Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness. Each section has 50 Questions and Each Question carry 1 mark.

The Total Duration of Tier-1 Exam is 2 Hours.


Negative Marks: There will be deduction of 0.25 marks for
every wrong answer.


Tier-2 Syllabus

Those who Pass the Tier-1 exam, can appear for Tier-2 Exam. The Tier-2 Exam will have Sections viz English and Quantitative Aptitude.

1) Quantitative Aptitude: In the Tier-2 Exam, there will be 100 Questions from the Quant section and each Question carry 2 marks. The Duration of this exam will be 2 hours.

2) English: This section is tier-2 Exam, will have 200 Questions , with each Question carrying 1 Mark. The Duration of this Exam is 2 Hours

Negative Marks: In tier-2 Exam, there will penalty of 0.50 marks for Quantitative Aptitude Sections, while there will be penalty for 0.25 marks for English Language and Comprehension.


Descriptive Paper : SSC had introduced a small pattern change in the CGL Examination, be introducing a Descriptive paper. This paper is only for those, who Qualify the SSC Tier-2 Exam

The Duration of this Paper is 1 hour only and Questions in this paper will be asked from the following sections:

1) English
2) Quantitative Aptitude
3) General Awareness
