Master tips to excel in SSC CGL Tier II 2016: Quantitative Aptitude

When it comes to making the best out of anything, it requires not only efforts but sincere efforts. When you go for hard work, it definitely pays off in the upcoming times. But, hard work doesn’t mean sitting with books for hours together going inch by inch of the book to mug up everything. It is making a planned strategy, a strategy which incorporates revision from all the sections asked in an examination.



The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is done with its first tier. Now, it is the turn of the second tier i.e. Tier II. SSC CGL expects an equal and appreciable response from the Tier II as observed in Tier I. Let us go through some of the details of the papers of SSC CGL Tier II examination 2016:
Paper-I & II  Compulsory for all categories. Paper I tests your Quantitative ability while Paper II tests your command over English language.
Paper-III  Only for those who have applied for Statistical Investigators Grade II and Compilers
Paper IV  Only for those who have applied for Assistant Audit Officer

SSC CGL Tier II: Pattern:

Let us take a look at the pattern of SSC CGL Tier II:

Please note that Tier 2 papers will be conducted over two days:
1st day: Paper I and Paper II
2nd day: Paper III and Paper IV

13th August 2016 (Saturday)
14th August 2016 (Sunday)

  • Practice practice and practice: Practice mock tests and sample papers on a daily basis which will make you familiar with the pattern. Make sure you take the ‘practice sessions” seriously.
  • Focus on the topics which are important. Some of the topics you should focus on are as follows:
  • Geometry
  • Algebra
  • Percentage
  • Mensuration
  • Trigonometry
  • Profit and Loss
  • Probability
  • Manage time judiciously and efficiently. Time management is one of those inevitable factors which are essential for an individual to ace any field or aspect.
  • Revise the topics which are important. Revision is the one and only way which can make you remember all the concepts and revitalize your preparation.
