   • Estimation & Measurement of Brick work- Modular & Traditional bricks, RCC Work, Shuttering, Timber work, Painting, Flooring, Plastering, Trapezoidal formula, Simpson’s rule etc.
8. Soil Mechanics:
   • 5-8 questions
   • Basic principles comprising Phase Diagram, Index properties, Classification, Permeability and effective stress, Compaction & Consolidation, Shear strength of soils comprising Triaxial shear test, Direct shear test and Vane shear test, Bearing capacity of soil, Earth pressure theories
9. Irrigation Engineering:
   • 3-5 questions
   • Water requirement of crops : Definition, necessity, benefits; Effects of irrigation, Types & Techniques of irrigation, Hydrology- Rainfall measurement, Run off coefficient, Rain gauge, Loss from precipitation including Evaporation and Infiltration etc. Water required by crops, Duty, Delta and base period. Kharif and Rabi crops, Area of command, Time factor, Crop Ratio, Overlap allowance, Efficiencies of irrigation, Design of canals comprising Lacey’s theory, Kennedy’s Theory and Canal types which are Weir & Barrage, Floods and River training which includes cross drainage work.

10. Transportation Engineering:
    • 0-4 questions
    • Highway Engineering, Geometric design, Pavement design, Highway materials comprising aggregates and bitumen, Traffic Engineering, Railway Engineering
